Rooted in Our Community for Over 40 Years

At UpliftedCare, we’ve been walking alongside patients and families in our community for more than four decades.

Founded in 1982 as Hospice of Kankakee Valley, our organization began with a simple vision: to provide compassionate end-of-life care for neighbors in need. By 1983, we had earned not-for-profit status, becoming the first hospice provider in the area. Since then, generations of families have chosen UpliftedCare to provide expert medical care, comfort, and support when it’s needed most.

Putting People—Not Profits—First

As one of the area’s only not-for-profit organizations, we’re committed to care that goes beyond the bedside. Every dollar is reinvested back into our patients and our community through programs like:

  • Complementary Therapies – providing comfort and relief beyond traditional medicine

  • We Honor Veterans Program – honoring those who have served our country

  • Community Grief Support – walking with families through loss and healing

  • UpliftedCare Community Grief Center – opened in 2020 to expand community resources

With 174 dedicated professionals and volunteers, our team is made up of your neighbors, friends, and supporters—people who care deeply about this community because they are part of it.
